Description
Biomedical Innovations, a premier Medical Device Manufacturer in the Colorado Springs area, is looking for a Materials Manager to join our Supply Chain Team.
The Materials Manager will manage BMED's Materials and Inventory planning functions. Primary responsibilities will include providing support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements, interfacing with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments, researching best prices, monitoring inventory levels, distributing supplies and negotiating contracts.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties (other duties may be assigned)
  • Follow all employee guidelines and Quality Systems Regulations(QSR's) as defined by BMED's practices, policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure that customer requirements and FDA (or equivalent) regulations are met.
  • Abide by all safety and security rules set forth by the company and regulatory agencies.
  • Establish procedures and supervise physical inventory.
  • Work with Management as well as other Departments to identify supply needs.
  • Research potential vendors and negotiate prices.
  • Recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quality.
  • Record and assess all materials quality, movement and expenditure.
  • Monitor inventory levels and access to materials.
  • Collaborate with Management to plan forecasting models.
  • Prepare and file detailed records on procurement activity, quantity and vendors.
  • Maintain and model excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Some overtime may be required depending on project timelines and machine schedules
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

    Qualifications and Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proven managerial experience.
  • Experience in a Medical Device Manufacturing environment preferred.
    Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or relevant field.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision making skills.
  • Proven ability to produce improvement in supplier quality.
  • Ability to assess supplier risks.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standard Purchasing practices, and familiarity with Lean, Kaizan and Toyota Production System activities preferred.
  • Previous experience with Oracle highly preferred.
