Biomedical Innovations, a premier Medical Device Manufacturer in the Colorado Springs area, is looking for a Quality Inspector I to join our Team.
This position verifies raw materials and in-process product which do not conform to specification, is prevented from being used or delivered, and maintains appropriate records to complete the evidence of conformance by performing the following:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES (other duties may be assigned)

  • Follow all employee guidelines and Quality Systems Regulations (QSR’s) as defined by BioMed’s practices, policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure that customer requirements and FDA (or equivalent) regulations are met.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and acts in accordance of BioMed’s Employee Guidelines and applicable quality standards as outlined in BioMed Quality Manual.
  • Verify that materials, parts and assemblies procured from the following sources meet dimensional and visual characteristics as required by SOP’s, MAI’s, WI’s, Drawings, Specifications and IQIR’s:
    • Outside the company
    • Internal Set-up Verifications (SUV)
    • Internal sub-assembly production for inclusion in finished product
  • Collect, sort, summarize, file and maintain inspection and test data on materials, processes, parts, assemblies and finished products.
  • Maintain a record keeping system to document the inspection and test process on materials.
  • Communicate with Quality Inspectors, Quality Technicians, Engineers and all stakeholders for correcting and/or dispositioning of nonconforming products.
  • Support audit activities and Quality Technicians with GR&R’s and FAIR’s as necessary.
  • Abides by all safety and security rules set forth by the company and regulatory agencies
  • Regular attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • 6-12 months of related experience
  • Medical Device experience preferred
EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and work effectively as both a team member and independent contributor.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MD Suite, particularly Microsoft (MS) Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with limited instruction.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and Maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Familiarity with standard inspection tools to include: calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, scales and pin gauges.
  • Vision System and CMM operation experience preferred
